Women start businesses for one or more of three possible scenarios:

  • A major life changing event such as loss of household earning power or a change in family situation.
  • You have a unique product or service and you think there is a market for what you offer.
  • You want to be your own boss.

Sounds great, right? Life handed you a problem and now you’ve got the answer. What could be more fun?

There’s a catch, though. It’s not all fun. In fact, it can be downright difficult. You probably don’t hear this much; mostly, you just hear the glamorous side of things.

Here’s something else you may not know: It’s just as hard to run a failing business as it is to run a successful one. The good news about this is that you get to choose what you want to do.

Given the amount of time, effort and energy it takes to run any business, what type of business would you like to run?

Successful? Sweet!

If you want to understand, learn and experience what it takes to run a successful business on your terms, then you’re in the right place!

Sweetspot Strategies, Inc. is a consulting company that guides female entrepreneurs and businesswomen through the various functions that are necessary to run a successful business so you make decisions easily and confidently. No more fretting over how to organize and prioritize!

Some of the most common struggles business owners have are easily answered once you ask the right questions. For example:

“I can’t do it all but I do need to really understand it all?”

“I know I don’t have time to do everything but I also have a limited budget.”

“How can I estimate time and money for projects when I don’t know which are priorities or the order in which they should be considered?”

How can I know what works and what doesn’t when I don’t understand how each step effects the next step in the business building process?

Sweetspot helps you identify and prioritize the tasks, as well as how to take things step by step so you can measure what works and what doesn’t.

Why Sweetspot Strategies?

I started this business because I watched a lot of women business owners follow mentors who were good at giving advice on what to do but not on how or why to do it. I spoke to female entrepreneurs blinded by “bright shiny object syndrome” who were doing activities but not seeing any results. And, I listened to frustrated women business owners realize that they really didn’t know what they didn’t know, and that lack of knowledge and context was preventing them from moving to the next step.

My goal in starting Sweetspot Strategies was to help these women connect the dots and provide foundational principles (insert a couple of benefits here) gleaned from my personal successes and failures running a multi-million dollar business for 16 years (out of my house, no less!) as well as from lessons learned working in and around marketing in Corporate America for 15 years.

Here’s what I learned:

  • There are proven tools that other successful business owners use to identify, prioritize, and develop productive businesses.
  • There are strategic and tactical approaches that make running a thriving business easier.
  • Every businesswoman should know and understand these processes.
  • Every female entrepreneur should be able to run a productive and thriving business.

Whether you want to work one on one with me or attend one of my workshops, my promise to you is that you will be able to feel good about being your own boss and you will understand exactly what it takes to run a business so you can decide whether you want to do it alone or with help. You can create plans. You can decide what you need to focus on strategically. You will learn to work on your business instead of trying to figure out your business. Your planning gives you knowledge and knowledge is power.

Ultimately, your business exists to make money and my goal is to help you get there strategically, efficiently and quickly.

So before the branding, marketing strategy, SEO and online activity, sales training or presentation skills workshops, think about understanding how your business actually works and consider looking at how some core strategic principles can be applied to get your company focused and forward thinking. We’ll start at the beginning or create a new beginning because where you go from here is entirely your choice. You can play with tactics and hope for the best (“the best” rarely happens without a plan), and you can become frustrated trying to learn everything you don’t know, assuming you can figure it all out on your own. Or, you can take a breath, accept where you are and learn what it takes to run a business and how to develop strategies and tactics that build customers, sales and success! Let us help you find your business sweetspot. You’re probably a lot closer than you think!

To your sweet success!
